The Production Department takes responsibility for delivering products to the customer
‘on time’ and ‘right first time.’
Truflo Marine concentrates on small batch production of specialist naval marine valves, in particular first level valves that are critical to submarine safety. As the majority of our products are bespoke, we are very experienced in developing prototypes as well as managing production runs.
Modern Tooling Technology
Our Applications Engineers program the CNC machines with the aid of SolidCAM software, utilising modern tooling technologies and data. Truflo Marine’s central production office is a hub in the middle of the factory for the planning, purchasing and production admin functions, acting as a source of information for both employees and customers.
Work in the machine shop is allocated and scheduled through the Seiki NMS system; we have worked with Seiki to optimise the way we use the software. This has resulted in Truflo Marine being Highly Commended in Manufacturing Computer Solutions’ Best of British Manufacturing IT Competition in 2005. We continue to work closely with Seiki to add more functionality to the system.
Continuous Improvement
Commitment to continuous improvement is a core value in the Production Department. We work hard to increase involvement via regular team meetings. Suggestions from all areas of the Production Department are received and have been recognised in our quarterly award presentations.
