Truflo Company History

Valves for Nuclear Powerplants since 1975

Truflo has operated from the same site in Witton, Birmingham, since establishment in 1962. Truflo made valves for the nuclear, oil and gas and naval marine markets. In 1994 the company was renamed Truflo Marine Ltd to reflect its primary focus on the naval marine industry where it had achieved so much success.

In May 2006, FTSE 100 engineering group IMI plc bought the Truflo International Group in a deal worth £113m. IMI is a global organisation serving customers in five segments: Severe Services, Fluid Control, Indoor Climate, Beverage Dispense and Merchandising.

Truflo is a part of IMI Severe Services Nuclear division, reflecting its supply of valves for nuclear submarines and re-entry to the civil nuclear sector. Truflo's range of high integrity valves perfectly complements IMI Severe Services' position as the world's leading expert in providing engineered valve solutions that enhance performance and reliability in critical plant applications.
